This section presents data about the demographic characteristics of the population, such as age, gender, citizenship, region of residence, and educational level.

Median age

The median age is the age at the midpoint of the population, i.e. half of the population is older than the median age and half of the population is younger. The next graph presents the evolution of the median age of the total population, and separately for men and women.

Age and gender

The next graph presents the age distribution of the population in broad age groups and in five-year age groups.
